Grad schools should provide camp grounds for students

The law school I have chose to attend is almost an hour away, which means I will be moving. Finding apartments or condos for rent is a lot harder than I thought. All of the apartments right near campus are going to be filled with undergrads and we all know that undergrads party ALL the time, so those are out of the question. If you read my other posts you will see that I drive a Mercedes and even though I have full coverage insurance all of the lower priced apartments are likely going to be out of the question. Low priced apartments bring in the ghetto goblins and I really don't want to wake up one day with my hood ornament and rims missing. This leaves higher end "luxury" style apartments which suck. How can they even have high end apartments? Seriously, people who want something nice and can afford them would buy a house or condo instead of renting an apartment. So it looks like my options are to live in undergrad party heaven, start dressing like a thug and move to the ghetto, or live in a so called luxury apartment (which basically just charge more rent $ to keep broke thugs out).

I'm seriously considering selling my car and buying a motor home to live in. I mean I could just park in the school parking lot on class days and wake up 5 mins before class and still be there on time. The more I think about it the motor home idea is looking better and better. Grad schools should start making campgrounds for students to live in. Who wouldn't want to live in at nice wooded campground in a RV for a few years? Three years in an apartment at a reasonably cost of $800 is almost 30k after three years of rent, I should be able to find a decent used RV for that amount. I'm off to troll ebay for RV prices, which comedically is the best remedy for my housing situation.

  1. It sucks that students don't have decent places to rent. Studying in America is really expensive compared to other countries.

  2. Dude, that motor home idea is more then feasible. That's how my m8 lived for 2 years while I was at college. after he just decided to commute 7 hours back and forth lol

  4. A) Buy a mobilehome/trailer (cheapest you can find).
    B) Live in it while skoolin' yerself.
    C) Become a slumlord when you graduate!

  5. Sounds tedious good luck with the house hunt, or the relocation to a mobile home.

  6. Yeah, student housing is a rip-off. For me, it was either living in a dorm, staying in a crappy apartment w/ a jacked up price because it was close to campus, or a crappy apartment far from campus. Good luck, sir.

  11. The school I'm attending in the fall is also like an hour away, but I'm gonna cram all my classes on two days and commute there from my parent's.

  12. The motorhome actually sounds quite awesome! There's probably a campground nearby, & having a power & sewer hookup is nice. I'd totally go live in an RV to escape my 45 minute (each way) commute, & living with my husband & kid!

    Following, fascinating insight!
